I love this !

As a first time mom I didn't know what to expect with a newborn baby .... I quickly realized how tiring it is not only having to feed so often but also holding my baby for hours. I didn't want to always lay my baby flat down because right after feeding he would spit up, also I wanted to minimize the time he spent laying flat down on his head to avoid the "flat head syndrome". As a result, I was always holding him unless he was sleeping and my arms and back started killing me. This Podster is a lifesaver. I can lay him down in it and he is slightly elevated so he doesn't spit up after feedings, I can also lay him down in it while playing with him and talking to him and it gives my arms a rest. It's also great when you have to put your baby down for just a minute or so to grab something or do something. It's very soft and cusiony and as far as I can tell, it is also soft on his head so it won't flatten his head (the Boppy newborn lounger, which I also have, is a little harder/stiffer, so I prefer the Podster). I love that it is also adjustable so as my baby grows I can adjust it. The cover is also removable and washable unlike the Boppy newborn lounger. Sometimes I put a soft towel or blanket in the center seat to elevate my baby's bottom if he seems to be sinking too much. To me, this is worth every penny!!

Great product for sleeping/lounging

Really like this product. Would buy it again and recommend it to others.Got the podster as a napping/lounging place for our newborn. We really like it and have used it daily since her birth. It is quite large and well stuffed, so it holds its shape without being too firm. We placed a folded blanket in the mesh concavity for the first 6 weeks because she was tiny and the depth of the concavity caused her chin to tip toward her chest when she was laying in it. The modification worked great, and allows us to control the depth of the concavity as she grows.She loves to sleep in the podster on her back and on her side. I place it in the pack in' play bassinet for nap time after she has nursed, the angle helps prevent reflux discomfort. I have also placed her in it on her stomach while she is awake and next to me on the couch or bed. With her head at the highest side and her knees and feet in the concavity it works great for providing light pressure to the abdomen to help with gas. It also works as a sleeping option when traveling via car or visiting friends, I don't have to leave her in her carseat or haul the pack n play around.UPDATE 2 YEARS LATERI love the pod. It has evolved and grown with our daughter. She now uses it as a lounger chair on the floor or propped up on the couch. She can drag it into her forts as a bed or put her stuffed toys to sleep in it.Definitely recommend!

Buy it!

Bought this after having to hold my newborn while he slept on my chest for the first two weeks of life. We have a king size bed and I wanted something that could be in our bed while he slept. This product is perfect! It fits in bed with us, he's within reach and he is propped at enough of an angle to keep reflux issues to a minimum. He is our fourth (and last) baby, so I was hesitant to buy another baby product, fearing I wouldn't get enough use out of it. Definitely worth the money! We put him in a Woombie (a MUST-own swaddle) and place him in the Podster and he's as snug as a bug :). It's also good for playtime by putting the lights and sounds toy bar over him while he sits in a reclined position. Buy it. You'll love it!

Good chair for the price

We had to buy two chairs for twins and didn't want to spend too much money. These chairs seem like they will work fine. My twins are 5 months old and using them now and they seem to be very comfortable in them. I'm not sure how they will work once they weigh more because they seem kind of flimsy. Great price.

DANGEROUS

This Chair was great and awesome until my fingers got stuck inbetween the plasitc putting the top tray on. i couldnt get the tray off with one hand so i had to pull them out. my nails are purple and theY hurt like hell!!!!! My fingers hurt too! Terrible tray design. This could have easily been my 6 months old hand!!!!!

Solid set, maybe too solid!

I bought this set for my daughter who is 23 months old. We have a small kitchen and this set fit perfectly into the corner. (BTW, Fred Meyer had this exact same set in their 2008 Christmas toy catalogue for $50 but only available in blue or pink.) Shortly after I'd assembled it, my daughter hit her head against the edge of the table. Don't know how it happened but she hit her temple and the cut was so deep my doctor recommended stitches. She did not hit the corner of the table, just one of its edges. The edge of this table and the chairs are *very square*. It's still a great table -- very solid. I'm now very careful when my daughter is around it. I'm sure as she gets older I won't need to worry as much but I thought others contemplating this purchase should be aware of any potential hazards.

Great Childrens Table

In the first shipping order I recieved of this table I found that one of the chair pieces was damaged. I returned the set and was quickly refunded by Amazon. At the same time I also ordered another as I was impressed with the quality of the product. The next table and chair set came in perfect condition. I ordered the green and white set for my 16mo old daughter. This set is solid and made of wood! Yes, wood - not particle board. It was very easy to put together. Each chair had four pieces and six heavy duty hex screws, and the tabletop required four screws for each leg. All of the screws and adjacent holes lined up perfectly. I am 170lbs and I do not worry about sitting on these chairs with my daughter (with care of course). I am very happy with this purchase and so was my daughter!

Should have listened to the reviews . . .

I ordered this item for my 18 month old daughter. When it arrived, one of the slats had come off the chair seat, exposing dried glue and sharp staples. I figured I would reglue the slat and keep the table. As I continued with assembly, I discovered that a piece of wood under the tabletop joining two legs together had been completely destroyed due to screws being inserted too tightly (during factory assembly). There were also multiple cracks around the corners of the table. I requested a replacement and sent back the set. I just received my replacement today and I didn't even have to take one piece out of the box to see that the corner of the table is badly cracked; it appears to have been dropped during shipment and there was not enough packaging material inside to cushion the wood. This time I am requesting a refund and looking for a different table and chairs set.Don't waste your time or your money.

Perfect ALL Metal Pet Gate

We started with this gate and added two of the height extensions. The combination is unbeatable! Our two German Shepherds have eaten and/or jumped every gate we've tried. This gate is ALL steel with the exception of two plastic bushings which are inaccessible to the dogs. This gate beats any of the gates with plastic handles, catches, locks, etc. No more "escapes" from the kitchen; they don't even try anymore.

easy to install

i tried out a lot of gates for top of the stairs.this gate worked the best.it was easy to install,and the best part is the angle mount was great.i didnt even know that both ends of the top of the stairs was not even until i tried this gate.my toddler is tall 34 inches at 18 months! and this gate is tall enough for her.It is not possible for her to open the gate and she tried a lot and gave up.i would recomend this gate to anyone .just one con it is very difficult to open with one hand carrying a child in the other.i have to put her down hold the catch away and then open it.

Great gate - easy to install & use.

We bought two of these to create a safe zone where our 12 month old can run around in our crowded apartment without us having to follow him around everywhere shouting "no". We all love this gate - even my son.It is heavy duty so my 30 pound 12 month old can use it to cruise on or use for balance while he's dancing and it doesn't budge.It's easy to install. It took abot 20 minutes for the first one - until I figured out to mark the holes for the screws then put it in the open position so I could get the electric screw driver into a good angle. The second one took about 10 minutes, but only because my son was climbing all over me while I was installing it.It is very forgiving if you don't use a level and you install it a little crooked because a 12 month old is climbing on you.The open bars allow my son to see what we're doing in the kitchen so he feels like he is with us - but he can't touch the hot stove or climb into the dishwasher. We can also see what he's up to.And my favorite part - I can open it with one hand. We go in and out of the kitchen alot - carrying a baby or a plate of food in one hand - and we can pop it open and closed again behind us no problem. It will be a while before my son is tall enough and strong enough to figure out how to open it by himself.Overall - we love them. We don't know what we would do without them - probably run around after a 12 month old all day shouting "no".

great nights sleeping and my issues addressed...

My baby has slept very well using this rock 'n play. I will continue using it with him and would again in the future. It's soft, snuggly, can be rocked if he fusses, and isn't large and cumbersome in our room. It also folds up easily making it a cinch to transport anywhere.However, I will say... I took off a star because I am experiencing some of the dreaded issues everyone is talking about. My rock 'n play started growing mold, and my baby developed a partially flattened right side of his head. Let me explain...my little one is a very warm sleeper, and that's all it takes to create an environment to grow mold. It doesn't necessarily take vomit or urine or accidents or spit up or whatever else. It takes warmth and moisture. Due to my baby sleeping like a hot box, little did I know, the perfect environment was being created to grow this mold. The plastic casing this rock 'n play is made of moistens up as well as the snuggly fabric baby lays on causing the thin piece of fabric separating these two to not dry out, over time growing mold. Unfortunately, I didn't realize or get the recall in time, and mine began growing mold. I had to clean it, which is cumbersome since it does not remove, and now unhook and lift the sleeping part to air it out every few days. Some people may not want to go thru the hassle or worry about the mold, hence minus the star. I don't mind because my little one sleeps so well that I'll go thru the trouble. As for the other issue with his head... I realize babies will get flat spots no matter where they lay. Mine did get a flatter right side of his head because he always slept with his face turned that direction. I noticed and have since accommodated for it by having him nap in his crib instead of the rock 'n play and a few other ways. We caught this quickly enough and can help it remedy itself. Some parents may not want the worry. Hence, minus the star.So, if you have read my concerns and aren't worried about the extra effort put forth to keep and use this product, then go for it. Your baby will probably love it. If you'd rather not deal with the possibility of mold (obviously it's not happening to everyone) or the potential for a flat head (also not happening to everyone), then you might want to pass and go with something else.

One of my favorite baby items!

First of all, I rarely write reviews unless the product is really something that I feel I couldn't live without. This is one of those products. When I was working on my baby registry, I read all of the reviews, searched out the most necessary products, and tried hard to not "over register". I didn't want a house full of baby stuff that my baby wouldn't be able to use once he reached 20 pounds. This was one of the things that I felt that we COULD live without, and I didn't register for it. I planned to have my baby sleep in the pack n' play in our bedroom until we were ready to move him to his own crib. Thank GOD that one of my friends, who had recently had a baby, purchased this as a shower gift anyway.As it turns out, my little guy would not sleep in the pack n' play, even though the mattress was at a bit of an incline. Even swaddled he would wake up the second that we put him down in there. So we turned to the rock 'n play sleeper, which we lovingly call his "bunny bed". Since we brought him home from the hospital he has been sleeping in his bunny bed. He looks cozy in it, and it seems as though he feels "held" when he's in it. It's deep enough that even now, at 4 months old, he's still able to sleep comfortably in it. Not only is he comfortable, but I feel he is safe. He has a minor case of reflux, and he will occasionally spit up in his sleep. With the incline of this bed, I feel safe that when he sleeps he will not choke.Also the sleeper folds up easily and is perfect for travel. We take it with us for day trips & overnight trips so that he has a place to nap during the day and sleep overnight. Because he's so used to sleeping in it, he has no trouble sleeping when we stay overnight at his grandparents' house. (It's waaaaay easier to pack up than the pack n' play.)The sleeper is also affordable compared to other bassinets and co-sleepers. It is the perfect height to push up right next to our bed. It's just like having a co-sleeper, but we can easily move it to other rooms of the house if we'd like to have him nap near us downstairs, etc.Also - when my little guy wakes up in the middle of the night, all I have to do is reach over and give the sleeper a push and he is rocked back to sleep. Now that he's getting bigger, when he wakes up and wiggles he basically rocks himself back to sleep!This product is very similar in shape to the snugabunny swing, which we do also have. That was an item that I felt we couldn't live without... and we probably could have. (haha... you live and learn!) The swing is nice of course, because it can swing continually... but you don't want to create a baby that is dependent on constant movement to sleep. He has always liked watching the birds that fly around and listening to the music. So I'm glad we have it. But the sleeper has been the more useful of the two.The ONLY negative thing that I could possibly say is... my little guy loves sleeping in his bunny bed so much that transitioning to a crib might be a bit tough. We've been trying to take naps in the crib to get used to it... but he misses his bunny bed! What more is there to say?? He's a fan.

Great for babies who are sick or have reflux

Two years ago a friend gave us an older version of the newborn sleeper (Fisher-Price Newborn Rock 'N Play Sleeper, Yellow). I had read plenty of reviews where people said their child ended up with a flat head after using the sleeper so I really didn't want to use it with our daughter. We had already been through the baby flat head problem with our first two children and I was determined to keep it from happening to our youngest daughter. For the first two months we avoided using the sleeper altogether. Then our daughter got sick with bronchiolitis and we needed something that would cradle her better than a bouncy seat and keep her upright enough that she could still breathe easily. In desperation we pulled out the rock 'n play sleeper. Since I was still worried about the hard plastic insert causing a flat spot on her head I added a Boppy Noggin Nest (Boppy Noggin Nest Head Support, Brown Wheels) for her head. Our experience with the rock 'n play sleeper was that it's awesome for a sick baby or one with reflux. Our daughter also has reflux and I was amazed at how she would nap for long stretches of time in this sleeper than she would in her crib or a bouncy seat. She would simply snuggle into the rock n play and go right to sleep. We think it was such a hit with her because she felt like she was being cradled.There are a few differences between the sleeper we used with our daughter (see above link) and the Snugabunny "deluxe" version. The Snugabunny sleeper has a nice plush newborn insert that is the same soft fluffy material as the bunny head cushion (which is sewn onto the seat pad). While the material is very nice and will feel so soft on baby's skin, I wish they had done things a little differently. First, I'd love for the bunny head cushion to be detachable. If you have a child with reflux then you know that this attached plush head rest means you'll be tossing the seat pad in the wash frequently. Since the headrest material is plush and not the easily wipeable material for the main part of the seat cushion you won't be able to just spot clean the plush material very easily. For that reason alone, I think I prefer the non deluxe version of this sleeper. At least with that one you can add your own head support, like the noggin nest, and you can spot clean when spit up happens. The deluxe version does offer a little more cushioning in the head area because of the sewn on head support, but it's not as much as you'd have if you added your own.I was disappointed to see that the deluxe version of the sleeper does not have the handy storage pocket on the back. I liked the convenience of having the pocket to store a pacifier or burp cloth on the non-deluxe version. It would have been nice to have on the deluxe model.Assembly for this sleeper is a snap. You don't need any tools which is really nice. It took me less than five minutes to put the entire thing together and that was with my toddler "helping" me.The bunny toy that is included with the sleeper is cute. I see it as a filler item since you really don't need a toy for this piece of baby gear. Instead of adding a toy, Fisher Price could have tweaked their design a bit and offered this seat with an adjustable and detachable headrest and a nice pocket on the back of the sleeper for baby essentials. I doubt anyone would have really missed the plush rattle.The sleeper easily folds up for storage with the touch of two buttons. It's folds up compactly enough that you can slip it into a trunk along with a stroller provided your trunk isn't super small and your stroller isn't huge.I like that the pattern for this sleeper is gender neutral. The dominant colors on this sleeper are ivory and tan. There are a few light green accents.Overall, it's a nice piece of baby gear that might help you get a bit more sleep at night, especially if you have a baby with reflux. If you are thinking of using this for an extended period of time or for more than just naps, I'd strongly recommend getting some sort of head rest to help prevent flat spots.

Hand-me-Down Love

My sister gave this to us for our new baby due in March 2013. She had purchased this September 2011 and used it with her daughter. I heard about the "mold recall" and learned that all the manufacturer is doing is taking you to a link that provides cleaning instructions so don't be nervous about purchasing this item. I checked the rocker immediately and found NOTHING, NO MOLD. Where my sister and I live are fairly different weather areas (she is in Las Vegas and I am in San Francisco Bay area)and it is the rainy season now. It is important to wash this item frequently as it comes into contact with bodily fluids from baby's sweat, any oopsie poopsie accidents, pee pee leaks, and spit up. We will wash this item before baby gets here and then every week or so as he uses it. I can't wait to put this rocker to use!!**Will update review/rating after we have used it for a couple of months to make sure you get the best opinion from me!

Great for new baby

My newborn slept in this next to my bed until he was 1 month old. Pros: high off ground, rocks and if it was on hard surface- when he would start to get upset he would move his arms around and rock himself back to sleep., easy to fold up and transport anywhere Cons: my long baby would sometimes slide down in it and woke him up- seemed like he was uncomfortable then- his feet would almost be above his head. I think if we would have buckled him in it would have probably prevented that but when they sleep so little in the beginning anyway, I never wanted to wake him to buckle it.

Gift for a friend, love ours

Space saver, easy handle, great high chair

This is a nice high chair and so easy to handle. I have uploaded a few pictures to show the colors better and how slim it is once folded - fully assembled.I'll start by saying that it was not difficult to put this chair together. There's no need for special tools or even a screwdriver. It took me about 15 minutes to put it all together.Things that I like:- Folds so slim that can fit behind the door once feeding is done.- Cleans super easy, the double tray it great. So easy to wash in the sink.- There's no fabric involved the plastic/vinyl that covers the seat is easy to wipe.- The height adjustment is a neat feature it can really go very low if necessary.- The colors, not too flashy.Things I don't like:- I can't carry it around. I have to roll it on the floor (but the wheels are not good for my floor) I am a small gal and can't lift this chair because the legs keep coming down. The legs don't want to stay put if I lift the chair up, they roll down making me stumble and bringing the chair legs to an odd position.There are other features that this chair has like safety harness, adjustable foot rest, loocking wheel mechanism, and all the buttons to help lock in the chair.Overall, this is a very good chair for the price, sturdy, and easy to put away.Last note:I invite you to ask questions or comment before hitting the unhelpful button. Great Product!

Chicco Polly High Chairs and associated colors/schemes have had mixed reviews. I'm unsure about all the products and if they vary in build, but this high chair seat pad material is vinyl, not fabric. A big complaint revolving around this high chair is the inability to clean it. I'm unsure if the majority of complaints revolved around the fabric chairs, but this particular chair is extremely easy to clean. Unless you leave food on the chair for weeks, I don't see how food could even stick to this material. I use a wet paper towel for my immediate cleaning needs, and use a mild-detergent with water after feedings. No scrubbing necessary.This product is extremely well built and there is nothing "cheap" feeling. The adjustments are well made and very smooth, rather than rapid and/or choppy. For instance, to recline the position of the seat, instead of just dropping into place, it slowly moves into position. I am amazed of how small of profile this chair has when setup, it's much smaller in comparison to other high chairs I've used. That's not to say that it's limited because it's small, the way it's designed can accommodate a child for a long time.The chair folds up into next to nothing and can easily fit someplace out of sight, or can be taken along on a vacation. The way the tray is stored when not in use is very handy and won't fall off if you move the highchair. I like the tray insert concept, and that has proven very convenient as you can put it in the dishwasher. It is a fairly big tray so smaller dishwashers will need a little finesse to place the tray inside. The wheels are great, this chair gently glides across the room without resistance, and the wheels don't scratch a soft wood floor which is nice. I used to have to carry the old high chair to prevent scratches and scuffs.Just about everything on this chair can be adjusted, the seat can recline, the 7 height settings, even the feet support can be moved and set at an angle, needless to say it's very versatile and can meet the needs for many given situations. The 5 point restraint is a nice touch, and once you get familiarized with Chicco's latch system, it's very easy to snap together and release. Finally, the ability to remove the tray and be able to pull the chair up to the kitchen table is a great feature, that at first I overlooked. It's much easier to get the little one engaged when we're all at the table as a family.I can't speak for the other Chicco high chairs, but I can't praise this particular one enough. This is a durable, convenient product that is certainly well-worth the money. I recommend this product for anyone in the market for a highchair.Update: 08/13/2013 - We celebrated our son's First Birthday and after the cake fun this highchair was completely filthy. We celebrated outdoors so I simply took the hose and washed it off. It cleaned effortlessly and dried within hours (completely). As a side note, this highchair folds into a very, very small footprint so travel was very easy. Realistically it was no bigger than some of the larger suitcases on the market.

Solid and Easy to Clean, With Minor Flaws

We like this high chair, but we still prefer our Graco Contempo for a few reasons.Pros:- Easy and quick to put together- Cover is plastic and simple to clean- Adjustable footrest is a nice touch- Folds up very slim, easy to slip into a broom closet or pantryCons (note - all of the cons are pretty minor, and would not dissuade me from buying this high chair or giving it as a gift - but they push it below our existing high chair for us):- Not a fan of the look of the removable tray cover. It feels like a protective cover for shipping that you would throw away, not a tray for use during meals. This is in part because it's clear plastic instead of color-matched to the tray that fits on the chair, unlike most other chairs I've seen.- Tray locking is a bit awkward. Instead of smoothly being able to slide the tray on until it locks into the desired position, it has locking pins, and you have to squeeze the locking mechanism until you get the pins in just the right spot.- The fabric cover for the leg portion just hangs there loosely. There's already velcro on the back of that portion so you can fold it up behind itself to make it shorter; it would have been a simple matter to have velcro on the footrest or velcro straps to feed through that could secure the fabric cover.- The 5-point harness also has a strange design. Instead of the usual design where the two waist/horizontal strap buckles have something on the top that can slide through a channel to link them to the vertical strap buckles, there is just a plastic snap hook on the vertical strap buckles that the waist buckles loosely hook to. It's difficult to explain, but the vertical strap buckles basically look like this item: Strapworks Swivel Snap Hook -Fits 1 Inch Strapping. This has a pretty cheap feel and doesn't feel like a snug fit.- Final annoyance is that if you just fold up the chair and swing the legs together, it doesn't stand up straight and will fall over. You have to let the legs drift apart a bit more, like a tripod, before it will stand stably.Overall, it's a high quality product, despite the cons above, and I'm happy to use it as a backup chair. But the minor cons and annoyances make me prefer our existing chair.

Wonderful Shower gift

We loved our bouncer but when my cousin got pregnant we couldn't find the same one, so after reading many reviews and looking at MANY bouncers we decided on this one. It is so much cuter in person than in the picture. She is using a safari theme and loves monkeys and was so excited that this fit in perfectly. It does have blue on it, but is quite gender-neutral, and has the very important "vibrate" function that was like magic for our baby. The toys hanging over swing out, which is also a great feature. She was very excited, and it turned out to be the perfect baby shower gift!

The toy bars design is flawed

I bought this bouncer for my 3 month old and is what can be expected from a bouncer, but my problem with this is that the description says that the toy bars swing away for easy access to the baby, that makes it sound like you do not have to remove the bars to get the baby in or out(which was my main reason for choosing this one). But when I assembled the chair I realised that the toy bars do swing aside but they do not stay aside, they spring right back. So I cannot get my son in and out of the bouncer without removing that bars. I dont mind removing them if it were not so hard, the clip that holds the bars is at a very awkward downward angle and they do not slip off easily or get snagged in the cloth of the bouncer very frequently. My advice is that you can find better designs of bouncers in the same price range.
