Great design, smooth swing, and a quiet baby

I've had this swing for about a month now after buying it at Baby's R Us before it was released on Amazon so I was really taking a chance with this one. I was looking at just about every swing I could. I initially was looking into the Fisher-Price Cradle 'N Swing, My Little Snugabunny because of the features that it offered and even compared it side by side with the Graco. Although the Graco cost more my wife and I just had a gut feeling about it, especially since a lot of the reviews about the Fisher Price machines is that the motor fails. Ultimately though the deciding factor was the design of this swing. It really does look just as good in person as it does in the picture. It uses a sturdy aluminum tube frame that easily snaps together. HOWEVER take note that the overall footprint of this swing is LARGE. I'm not sure if the product dimensions given are of the box it comes in or assembled.Here is a list of pros and cons about the swing so farLPROS: - Comfortable inserts with a smaller removable insert for infants - 2-position back that elevates the baby (about a 20 degree difference, it's not much) - Like a lot of other swings it's got nature sounds and music. - 6-speed dial that offers plenty of range. Level 1 is a gentle push and Level 6 is fast. - 3 positions, facing left, facing right, or straight out. This is great when we want to dim the lights and face our baby away from the TV. - Removable rocker. We don't use this very much but it's nice to have the option. Be warned it's heavy with baby in it (It seems to weigh bout 7-10lbs alone) - Very atractive. - A/C adapter! I know other swings offer this as well but it's still a great feature that some swings lack. - VERY smooth swing action. I mean like butter. - Easy to put on 5-point harness for added safety.CONS: - When it gets settled in to a swing the motor is kinda loud when changing direction. You can hear it knock as it shifts direction. This may not be that bad since it's at least rhythmic. - The mobile doesn't spin or make noises. It just rotates a little bit in either direction and then re-centers. Would have been nice if it did more. - Rocker is heavy to carry around the house and it's tall. I'm 5'-9" and when I carry it it's about 6" from the ground. - Not a portable swing. When you set this up you leave it there. It can be shifted around the house but you're not gonna wanna take it to grandmas.If I ever get around to it I'll post up a video review of the swing as well. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. The only thing I worry about (and this goes for any swing) is the longevity of the motor. But as far as build quality elsewhere, this thing feels built to last. I also like the color scheme as it's unisex. This is great since we're on our first and we never know if we'll be getting another girl or a boy but rest assured we won't need another swing.

Looks nice and that's about it.

I bought this for our newborn (first baby) thinking it would be a great swing. After about two weeks of occasional use, it started making a loud clicking noise and the motor has now (after 5 weeks) pretty much gone out. Whether it is on level 6 or level 1, it barely moves. Being a first time mom, I thought maybe this was just the way baby swings were... Until someone gave me the Fisher Price My Little Snugabunny swing. That one blows this one away in all aspects and makes me mad that I bought this one instead, which actually cost more. The motor on the FP one is smooth and powerful, the mobile actually moves and appeals to baby (whereas this one is so muted and does nothing, it might as well not even be there), the sounds are much better with more variety and are shut off with the one power button on the system (whereas this one requires 3 separate switch offs, which doesnt sound like a big deal, but it is really annoying to have to manually turn off the swing, music and vibration, with a fussy baby in your arms). As far as the removable rocker aspect, it really has proven useless to me. The unit is too large and bulky to be able to move it around without waking the baby up. Plus, the music/sounds are housed on the swing itself, so if your baby needs the continuous white noise, you lose it as soon as you take the seat part away from the base. Really the only good part about this swing is the look, it is very pretty, but gender neutral and looks high quality. It was also easy to put together. Hopefully it will be as easy to take it apart and throw it away now that I have a swing that actually works. It was pretty much a total waste of money, and I would definitely recommend you consider other options (Fisher Price or Mamaroo). At the very least, I would say to buy this one at a store so you can return it if you also get a dud and it stops working in a couple weeks.

Finally found one my LO loves

I originally had the Graco Comfy Cove Swing-Faith and my daughter hated it. It only went forward and back and wasn't deep for comfort. It was also extremely loud. I took it back and found myself confused about what swing to get even after looking at a lot of reviews. I was skeptical on getting another Graco swing but decided on the DuetSoothe Swing & Rocker because my daughter loves to go side to side. The vibrate feature is amazing, it helps put her right to sleep and has two speeds. The swing can go front to back and side to side and there are 6 speeds. There is bird chirping sounds and musical sounds that are pretty decent. (Not a lot of baby products sounds are out of this world amazing anyway). What I really love about the swing is how soft it is. The fabric is amazingly soft and the seat is very deep and fits her nice and snug. The swing comes off and can rock on the floor. I havent tried that yet because I already have a floor bouncy chair but it is a convenient feature. The only bad things I can say about this is that the mobile does not move and the floor base is a little wide. Otherwise I love it, it looks very nice and sophisticated and my daughter loves it! She never wanted to be in the other swing and will sit in this one awake or nap in it. Very pleased and would recommend.
