Love. Read my review if you have a daughter!

I did a ton of research on which potty chair would be perfect for daughter. I wanted something that would be comfortable for her to sit on and use. A lot of the cons I read for reviews on OTHER pottys out there were that they were too "flashy", hard to straddle or sit on, too tight on thighs, hard to clean, leaked pee, or were too easy to take apart for children - not the Boon Potty Bench!I will start by saying the only con I ran into was that when we received the toilet, a piece of the bottom were it connects one of the storage compartments was broken - it wouldnt and doesn't affect the use of the potty and I could easily fix it with some tough glue - no biggie.NOW, on to the good part! We got this toilet when my daughter was 14 months old (she is now 16 months) and she still LOVES this potty. She can sit on it by herself and she peed in it right away! The clean-up is sooo easy, unbelievably easy! It is a very sturdy potty bench. We leave it out at all times for her to access and she will climb all over the thing. I've had guests come over and not even realize there is a toddler potty in our livingroom - with that being said, as soon as you open it, it resembles the big potty, which is nice and I can see moving to the big potty as an easy transition. One more thing! I really wanted a potty that my childs thighs wouldn't get stuck in or have a plastic seperation piece in between her legs - this way she can use the potty longer if need be.

It's a good potty

My 2 years old is doing well with this potty, but it does leave marks on his tush, as if the opening it too narrow for him. Otherwise this learning potty is just right. It doubles as a step for washing hands after, and it's sturdy enough to hold my husband. Did I mention easy to clean?

Best potty ever!

Having a 2 year old I've seen many pottys on the market. What I LOVE about this one is you can put TP in one section and books in the other. It is VERY easy to slide the "bowl" in and out and to clean. I am SOOOOO glad that I spent a few more dollars and got this potty. I also like tha it can serve as a stool when she is ready to get on the bigger potty. Which we have been using it for lately and it's been great.

Great babyseat, but installation is NOT straightforward!

This seat is the best babyseat I've ever used, because the baby sits at the center of the bike (better weight distribution than a rear mount) and my son loves the unimpeded view forward. However it's not designed for the mountain bikes popular in the US but rather for the commuter bikes common in Holland (where the product is manufactured). Those who travel to Amsterdam regularly know the bike I'm referring to: less aggressive upright riding position with handlebars, on long necks, that curve back almost to your hips. But with certain other styles of bikes you can still make this seat work.Very important: If your bike's handlebar neck is greater than 1.1 inches in diameter then the "adapter" they ship with the seat won't fit, because bolts are too short, and you won't be able to mount the seat. My bike, the Trek Soho [...] has a relatively thin 1.33" neck but the bolts still don't reach. So if you have a big "stocky" mountain bike you definitely can't use the standard hardware to mount the seat. This will be the issue for the majority of US bikes. You can read about the travails of everyone trying to install this seat on REI's forums: [...] After much effort to determine the specs of the bolt I finally calculated the proper bolt for my 1.33" neck to be these: [...] I couldn't find anywhere on the web to buy just 2 bolts so I purchased this packet of 10. Annoying, but the seat mounts perfectly and my son now loves going for rides.If your bike has a 1.5" neck - common for larger mountain bikes - you'll probably want the 80mm bolt:[...]When mounted the bolts must be the perfect length because they're flush on both ends (ie you can't just crank down on a nut on one end and have the excess hang out) So I'm writing this review to save everyone the trial and error I went through to make this Dutch product work on American bikes. It's worth it!

A note on fit

Fit ok on my wife's 2013 Trek Skye with default adapter. The legs sit on top of the shock adjuster. To get to fit I had to remove some plastic adapters inside the adapter and you can twist it until you install the seat. She will definately have to bend her kneesThe standard adapter would not work on my 2013 820. I have ordered the threadless and update. Also, we have yet to extensively use it.Update: The ahead/threadless adapter worked find for my Trek 820. The seat itself does require me to both flair my knees and the seat rubs up against my chest. Please note, you want a deep socket 10mm for the install of the adapter

Very safe!

We bought one of these for my son when he was 14 months old. We love riding together on my bike. He is always so happy to be in the yepp seat and I love having him so close where I can see him.I have to say, having experienced an accident on the bicycle very recently, I am incredibly impressed (and relieved) at how well protected my son was in his seat. He didn't have a single scratch or bruise. I was pretty scratched up, but my son was absolutely unscathed. I would rate the safety of this seat as top-notch. Just make sure you both always, always wear a well-fitting helmet.

The better splat mat

If you're trying to decide the one made by mimi the sardine or this one made by sugar booger, I would highly recommend this one. The mimi one is too thin while this one is substantial. The mimi one is rectangular while this one is square, but they are essentially the same size. The mimi one probably only gets sold because buying online, you can't really see what it will look like. It looks like someone just cut a piece of fabric with no finished edging. This one by sugar booger has a finished edging and is heavy enough that it will not roll. I wish someone had compared the two for me so that I would not have wasted money on the mimi one. This one by sugar booger is totally worth it.

Doesn't wash well

The mat is super cute and has a good weight so it doesn't move around much on its own. We have wood floors in our kitchen (I know, weird!), so we wanted this to protect the floors from our food-flinging toddler.The care instructions say you can wash it in a washing machine and hang to dry, but DON'T do it! The coating and the cloth backing have separated in places all over the mat, so the coating appears to be all bubbly, and it looks really cheap. The mat won't lay flat anymore, and has a tendency to curl along the edges. I was hoping this would be with us for years and we'd use it under a craft table down the road, but I doubt it will last that long.It's also not especially "jumbo."

Worth every penny

Upon ordering I knew this would take a few months before I would get it but because I was at the point of having to replace the generic splat mat (the kind you find at the baby are us store) for the 3rd time I was willing to wait and invest a little more money into something thicker, durable, washable and overall nicer.The mat arrived much sooner than promised and it's 100 times better quality than the generic mats. Since it's not thin and massive in size I can easily take a disinfectant wipe to the mat and clean it off quickly without having to deal with the wrinkles and static of the thinner mats. We've taken this to my in law's house where we were able to clean up after my daughter super quick and without any guilt of avocado stains on the rug. (bonus) I've also used this as a drawing mat while at my IL's and again the fact that it keeps my daughter busy and their carpets clean makes this the best product E.V.E.R.!!!The travel bag is also really handy and a total bonus to an already great product. I love the colors and the pattern to the ladybug mat, it blends nicely under the highchair without making our kitchen look like a daycare. :)

Works great for smaller adults, but then...

I bought this for myself because, let's face it, I'm a busy lady on the "go" (pun intended!) and I don't always have time to properly do my business when there is so much internetting to be done.Fortunately, I was blessed with a pretty minuscule frame and some freakish flexibility, so I am able to mount this sucker like a barely-oversized toddler.At first, I found myself only using time-wasting apps like Flow or Fruit Ninja. Then, as my restroom visits lengthened (thank you, iPotty! My rushed toiletings had lead to some pretty serious lower G/I issues), I realized that we had some serious multi-tasking opportunities here.In the past week, I have edited my NaNoWriMo novel, stalked my ex-boyfriend (whose new wife, by the way, is hideous... but at least she's tall, right, Rich?!), filled out my passport application - AND PRINTED IT! FROM MY BATHROOM! - and completed an online mobile app development class. And I've never been more regular!The only downside I can see is that now, every time I try to use my iPad in a non-water-closeted venue, I experience the sudden and undeniable urge to eliminate waste. It makes my normal bedtime routine pretty uncomfortable, and makes me feel weak for my Pavlovian response.I'm trying to taper off using this, but now a regular toilet just feels so high. There is a reason most of the world squats, people! It's better for you!My next plan is to use this to toilet train my cats. I have tried those cat apps, but they don't like them. They LOVE the keyboard app, and one of my cats wrote a pretty incredible song the other night when I was drinking and watching House, but by the time I came out of that wine stupor, the other cat had apparently deleted the recording out of jealousy.Neither of them has successfully mastered the potty yet, but I have high hopes! And I guess I'll just start reading before bed or something. I don't know what people who read on the toilet do to unwind, though...

Game of thrones

In my family, we're not big talkers. As soon as I get home from work, I plop down in front of the TV and watch my shows until it's time to go to bed. My wife will try to tell me about her "busy" day staying at home with our son -- I'm only half listening, though.I know we're supposed to interact with our kid and teach him things, but quite honestly, it's easier just to put him in front of the TV and let those cartoons do the educating for us. The kid goes into a zone when he's watching TV and doesn't say a word for hours, so he's obviously learning a ton of stuff.When the iPad came out, I was reluctant to fork out all that cash, but once my wife and I realized the educational benefits it could have on our child, we bought it immediately. He has absolutely no idea how to operate the darn thing, but when he's playing with the iPad it's like we don't even have a kid anymore. It's pretty great.After a disastrous attempt to potty-train the kid after his first birthday, we weren't in a huge hurry to try again. Until I heard about the iPotty. It's exactly what you think it is -- a training potty with a built-in stand for the iPad.Sometimes we'll put the kid on the iPotty even when he doesn't have to go to the bathroom. He just loves sitting on his throne (as we call it), tapping mindlessly at the screen. And let me tell you how thrilled I am with the touchscreen protector that keeps pee- and poo-covered hands off of the iPad screen. That thing's been a lifesaver on many occasion.When you think about it, a kid playing with an iPad on the potty is no different than an adult reading a book. Sometimes you just need to take your mind of the task at hand and let things happen naturally. While our boy has yet to be successfully potty trained, we're confident that -- with the help of the iPotty -- we'll have this thing figured out in no time.
